4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Explore Uganda’s Mountain Gorillas
This 4-day journey takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda, a biodiversity hotspot home to more than 120 mammal species, over 500 plant species, and around 350 bird species, including 23 endemics. The park is also renowned for sheltering over 200 mountain gorillas, offering an exceptional gorilla trekking experience at its finest.
Day 1 – Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe International airport, you will meet up with our experienced driver guide from Tata Africa Safaris . You will be welcomed and transferred to the hotel in Entebbe with a precise briefing about the tour. Check in and relax as you prepare for a visit to Entebbe Botanical gardens in the evening. Expect to see different bird species hovering around and refreshments from the cool breezes of the gigantic Lake Victoria. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight rest
Day 2 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
After having your breakfast, embark on a 7 – 9 hours journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National park. Make a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe for photography and refreshments and another one in Mbarara at Igogo Cultural Centre for lunch. Proceed to the park and check in at Rushaga sector, have dinner and overnight stay at the booked lodge as you await for the gorilla experience the following day. Accommodation options: Buhoma Lodge Trekkers Tavan Lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 3 – Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural encounter.
After morning breakfast, our driver guide will transfer you from the hotel to the park headquarters with packed lunch where you will be registered and divided into groups of 8 and later assigned a gorilla family to trek. Proceed to the forest and commence the trekking of the gorillas giving you the ultimate experience of the gorillas alongside colorful birds and butterflies. Having found a gorilla, you are allowed to stay with it for 1 hour as you watch it play and take memorable pictures. After lunch, you will have a visit to the local communities of Batwa and watch them portray their lifestyles through singing, crafts and dancing. In the evening, return to the lodge, relax, have dinner and retire for a night.
Day 4 – Return to Kampala
Relax and enjoy scenic countryside views on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe after breakfast.
