The sector you choose matters because your gorilla trekking arrangements, accommodation and road transfers should be planned around the correct Bwindi entry area.
Tata Africa Safaris therefore recommends checking permit availability before confirming your accommodation.

The Tata dashboard currently has Gorilla Habituation set to NO for this sector. Standard gorilla trekking can still be planned subject to permit availability.
Buhoma can be reached by road from Kampala or Entebbe through southwestern Uganda. It combines particularly well with the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Travellers flying from Entebbe can use Kihihi Airstrip and continue to Buhoma by road transfer.
Confirm your gorilla trekking sector before booking your lodge. Staying near the correct trailhead can avoid unnecessary transfers on the morning of your trek.
Bwindi can be visited throughout the year. However, it is a tropical rainforest, so visitors should prepare for changing weather even during relatively dry periods.
June to September and December to February generally offer relatively drier trekking conditions. However, Bwindi is a tropical rainforest and rain can occur throughout the year.
March to May and around October to November can be wetter. Forest trails may become muddy and slippery, although gorilla trekking continues throughout the year.
A Bwindi visit does not have to end after your gorilla trek. Depending on your itinerary, you can add forest, birding, community and nearby safari experiences.
